Fighting At Conisborough

John Alfred Lawrence, labourer, and William Slater, collier, both of Denaby, were charged with causing an affray at Conisborough on July 18.

Lawrence pleaded guilty and Slater did not appear.

P.C. Evans said he was on duty at Conisborough on that date, and saw the two prisoners in the middle of the road fighting.

They both were bleeding from wounds in the face, and a crowd had gathered around them, Lawrence was ordered to pay 7s. And Slater 10s.
