Fined After Shop Fight.

The chairman at Doncaster Borough Court on Wednesday said the bench was determined to stamp out gang warfare after hearing of a brawl which brought fear to customers at a fish and chip shop.

A fine of £25 was imposed on Arthur Lesley (26), unemployed, of Fullerton Avenue, Conanby, who admitted using threatening behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace. He was also bound over for 13 months.

Mr A. H. Pickles. Prosecuting, said that after a 999 call police went to a shop in Copley Road, Doncaster, where the fight had broken out. Woman were very frightened and chairs were being used as weapons. The fighting continued in the street. Mr Pickles added that others were to appear before the magistrates later, but Lesley had been dealt with at this stage because he was due to go on holiday.
