Firbeck 152 for 8  Denaby and Cadeby 150

H.Sherwin 46*, R.Giles 48. E. Robinson 33; W. Larke 4-40

The extreme ends of Denaby and Cadeby’s batting list came out on top in the match with Firbeck.

The Denaby bowlers, for their part met a stumbling block in H.Sherwin, who was at the wicket for over two hours for 46 not out. A colleague, R.Giles, scored 48 in 50 minutes. Firbeck won by two wickets.

Denaby lost Greenwood for 19 and Bacon for 26 and both Wright and Berry were dismissed before Robinson was bowled by Giles for 33. Wickets began to fall cheaply until the ninth wicket fell at 111, then Porter and Allen stemmed the tide to add 39 in 40 minutes.

Denaby met with an early success when Pegg claimed Roger´s wicket in his first over before a run had been scored, but Sherwin and Giles made amends by scoring 60 in 50 minutes. Giles being this LBW to E. Robinson for 48, including three fours and two sixes.

Firbeck passed Denaby’s total with two wickets to spare
