First Trip Abroad
Denaby Wife Joins Husband in Germany

Making her first trip abroad is Mrs. Elsie Evans, only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Cook, 27, Sprotborough Street, Denaby Main, who left Denaby on Tuesday to join her husband, Guardsman L. Evans youngest son of Mr and the late Mrs Bob Evans. 19, Marr street, Denaby Main.

Guardsman Evans is stationed at Bad Salzuflen with the B. A. O. R. He enlisted in the Army in the early part of the war and went out to the continent over two years ago, being among the first British troops to enter Brussels. He is in the Coldstream guards.

The couple have been married seven years on Wednesday and travelling with Mrs Evans (reported as “full of beans at the thought of joining their daddy” and their two children, Brian, aged five and Leslie, aged 2. They were due to leave Tilbury for Cuxhaven, and will join Guardsman Evans in a furnished house which he has waiting for them.

Mrs Cook, Mrs Evan’s mother, told a staff reporter her daughter was “thrilled to bits” at the thought of her trip.
