Football for Denaby?

Apparently there is a chance of Denaby football again.

It may not be in the Midland League, but it proves that the Denaby directorate are out to provide football for Denaby, despite difficulties.

There have been some hard times for the club in the past few seasons, and just as things were looking up, and the public were becoming “football Conscious”, Hitler intervened.

But it is grand to see that even this cannot discourage the gallant little club, and we learn that they have expressed their desire to take part in the Yorkshire Football League if it is revived this season.

There was some doubt as to whether the League would run this season but prospects are now brighter and South Kirkby, Upton Colliery and Frickley Colliery are among the local clubs who have intimated a desire to join.

Officials of the League and club representatives met at Leeds on Tuesday night to reach a decision.
