Free travelling on M. S. And L. Railway

William Simmonite, Trammer, Conisborough, was charged with travelling without a ticket from Mexborough to Conisborough on the 16th February last.

Mr. Baddiley, who prosecuted on behalf of the railway company, said that defendant had booked to Mexborough only, and instead of stopping there came to Conisborough.

When he passed the ticket collector at the gate he gave in his ticket upside down. The collector saw, on examining it that it was only to Mexborough, and ran after defendant and had him arrested.

The railway company wanted the offence supressing.

Defendant was ordered to pay 10s. and costs.
