Gamblers Plunge Into The River.

Seventeen men from Mexbro’ and district were charged at Doncaster, yesterdav, with gambling on the Leaches at Mexbro’ on November 18th.

When the raid was made a crowd of 25 were gambling, and it was stated that this was common rendezvous for gamblers.

On seeing the police, seven men took to the river.

William Shaw, miner, Swinton, and Fred Moorhouse, miner, Denaby, were each fined £4, and the others £2 each.
