Grab And Smash In Cadeby Lane.

Four young Denaby miners. Win. Ring. Geo. Noble, Frank Wileman, and George Embleton, were each fined at Doncaster on Wednesday, for having damaged turnips worth 2 /6. (12.5p)

P.c. Gamm said on March 22 he was in Cadeby Lane, Denaby, when he saw the defendants in a field. “They had made a hole a yard square in a turnip-pie, and liberated aver a load. They were picking turnips up and smashing them.”

They ran away, but were caught by the constable.
