82, He Enjoyed His Trip to the States

An 82 years old Denaby grandfather has visited two brothers in America, whom he has not seen for over 50 years.

Mr James Davey, of 137, Tickhill Street, stayed with brothers Martin, in New York, and Thomas in Providence, Rhode Island.

Travelling both ways by air was a new experience he thoroughly enjoyed and he remained “fit as a fiddle,” said his daughter Mrs Mary Conlon, who accompanied me in, after 3000 miles travelling during his month stay.

Mrs Conlon, a former children’s nurse for four years, was making her first visit to America for 25 years. In New York, she visited Miss Mary Mullens, Mrs Nora King and Mrs Mary Keenan, formerly of Denaby.

Mr Matthew Conlon, said his father-in-law last saw his two brothers before they emigrated from Ireland
