Postponement of the Hospital Demonstration

The incessant and heavy rainfall on Sunday, entirely spoiled the hospital demonstration, which should have been held in the castle enclosure on Sunday. The hard working committee are to be sympathised with under such disappointing circumstances. This is the fourth successive year in which the demonstration has been interfered with by wet weather.

The committee had made a special effort and gone to considerable expense and trouble to make the ever a success, and hospitals are in need of all the financial assistance which can be obtained.

The organisers were hard at work from the early hours until noon on Sunday. Then the committee met and reluctantly decided to send the town crier around Conisborough and Denaby announcing the postponement of the outside demonstration.

Amongst the disappointed ones were a contingent of soldiers from Rotherham, the Denaby and Cadeby Miners Association, who intended to display their new Association flag, and the Boy Scouts who also had purchased a new flag for the occasion.
