Housing Loan Interest
Conisbrough Call for Reduction

Conisbrough Urban Council’s Finance Committee are to consider a proposal from coun. J. T. E. Collins that the West Riding U.D.C. Association call a conference to consider the question of the interest of charges on housing loans.

Speaking at Mondays meeting Coun. Collins said “we should make strong representation along with other authority’s if it is agreed for the government to reduce interest charges on housing loans”
Coun. Collins observed “we should all be considering what can be done in this direction. When I think of the rents having to be paid I think the time is long past when we should get together with other local authority’s to get the interest charges reduced,” he concluded.
