Interesting Wedding at Conisborough

Yesterday, at the Wesleyan Chapel. Conisborough in presence of a large congregation, the marriage was solemnised of George Kilner, eldest surviving son Mr. Caleb Kilner, of Conisbrough glass works, and Miss Lydia Bateson, daughter Mr. J. Kilner Bateson. Southport and Conisborough.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white moire silk, with Brussels lace veil and wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom.

She also wore a diamond and pearl brooch, the gift of the bridegroom.

Her two senior bridesmaids, Miss A Handley and Miss G. Watkinson, wore dresses of petunia chiffon in satin with jewel trimming and chiffon and large white picture bats. They, too, carried bouquets, the gift of Ibe bridegroom. Her junior bridesmaids, Miss A. Handier and Miss Watkinson were dressed in buttercup silk, trimmed with lace and ribbon, and wore while drawn-silk bats, and carried baskets of flowers, the gift the bridegroom.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. Stoves, resident minister Conisborough.

The wedding breakfast was served at the bride’s home at New Conisborough and afterwards the happy couple left for Southport, the bride’s travelling dress being a pale green cloth costume, with hat to match.
