It was just like the real thing.

Denaby Tom Hill Youth Centres’ Election was just like the ‘real thing’ as scrutineers worked until 10 o’clock at o’clock at night checking members’ votes to elect the 13 strong members’ committee and officials.

Leader Mr. Sid Stones declared the results, and for probably the first time in the club’s history, girls were elected to three of the top four positions.

The new chairman, succeeding David Galvin, now with Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., is Anne Kelly. Sonja Dallinson is secretary and Maureen Scott treasurer.

The only boy is Geoff. Chadburn, who becomes Vice-chairman.

The 13-strong committee elected for six months, is: Geoffrey Chadburn, Ken Hambrey, Keith Johnson, Pat Logan, John O’Neill, John Prendergast, Richard Shaw, Sonja Dallinson, Anne Kelly, Judy Longley, Margaret Potts, Maureen Scott, and Margaret Winstanley.
