A Shaking for Denaby.

Norton Woodseats 2 Denaby United 2

Denaby United had to play hard to hold Norton Woodseats to a draw of 2-2, and had they lost, would have had only themselves to blame.

Although having a first-half lead of 2-0, Denaby’s performance in the last 20 min was poor. It was during this spell that they lost the services of Smith, their centre half, who had to leave the field with a head injury.

Norton played good football, and completely overran their opponents.

During the interval, Birkhead, Norton’s goalkeeper, had to be taken to hospital for treatment, but he returned to the field soon after half-time.

Scorers for Denaby, who were without Ardron and Wilkinson, were Burkinshaw and Mulligan, while Melling who failed with a penalty scored both goals for Norton.
