Fatal accident at the Denaby Main Colliery

Yesterday, Mr Webster, the coroner, held an inquest at the Masons Arms Inn, Mexborough, upon the body of a labourer named John Ansbro, who was killed on the preceding day at the Denaby main colliery.

The deceased was moving a truck with an iron bar at the colliery, when some of the wagons came up and struck him, crushing him so severely between the buffers that he died immediately afterwards.

The jury returned a verdict of “accidental death”
