Rawmarsh were engaged at home on Saturday in an encounter with Conisborough in the Mexborough and District League. The home team maintained the splendid form they have shown recently in the batting direction, and knocked up 118 runs for the loss of eight wickets, when the captain (Dr Naylor) declare their innings closed.
When the Rawmarsh captain declared the time to play was insufficient to allow the Conisborough 11 to top score, and a draw was inevitable.
Another dull day was experienced, and a cold wind blew across the ground. The climatic conditions had no doubt a good deal to do with the meagre attendance of spectators.
