Denaby were completely outplayed and when Mexborough won the match they had all their wickets intact.
Denaby batted first, on a somewhat dangerous wicket. Beckett and Brown shared the bowling throughout the Denaby innings. The former, especially showing a gratifying return to form. He made the ball work a tremendous lot, and the Denaby batsmen were completely at sea with him.
A.Robinson was the only batsmen who showed any confidence and was responsible for 22 out of the Denaby total of 54
