Their First home Draw

On a wicket which started out with plenty of life but got progressively milde as the day went on, Denaby were unsable to follow up an early initiative and drew at home , for the first time this season, against Brodsworth on Saturday.

The visitors were put in to bat and looked shaky as N Pearson  (w2 for 27) and R Lawley (3 for 38) sent down some lively deliveries.

But Brodsworth weathered the storm and settled into make 151 for 7. Top scorers were Lumb (54), Robinson (29) and Perkin (23). For Denaby M Walker took 2 for 30.

Only 14 runs were on the board when Denaby opener M Walker was out … for 14. A Ellis his partner who at that time had not scored went onto make 21. Also forDenaby R Dodd made 25, T Hough 20, N Oakley 15, D Cory 14 and R Pearson 10 not out.

The visiting attack finally forced Denaby to dig in and play out time for a draw.
