John William Kelsall

The funeral of the late G.W. Kelsall, assistant deputy of the Cadeby Colliery, and a hero in the recent disaster, took place on Friday week at Denaby cemetery.

Only a young man, yet he held the esteem of all his fellow workmen and those with whom he came into daily contact.

Mr. G. Robinson supplied the coffin which was borne by Messrs. J. Roberts, B. Roberts, W. Soar, T. Deringham, J. Davis and T. Chambers.

The funeral service was by the Rev. F.S.Hawkes, assisted by Rev. J.W Tunnicliffe.

Hynes, Mrs. Lumb, Mrs. Ellis, Mr. A. Sidway, Mr. and Mrs. Cheshire, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, Mr. H. Perry, Mr. Littler, Mr. and Mrs. Kelsall, Mr. R. Kelsall, and Mr. F. Kelsall.

John William Kelsall, from Smalltorne in Staffordshire had been married 2 years to Denaby born Florence, aged 20 at the time of the 1911 census. They had an 11 month old daughter Edna.
