On the night of April 1st, Miss Barbara Hannan (20), of 2b, Overdale Road. Stockhill, Nottingham, was killed in a car crash.

Miss Hannan was returning from a dance with three other people when the car collided with a trolley-bus standard. The other occupants were injured and are now in hospital.

Miss Hannan, who was born at Conisbrough, was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hannan who 14 years ago, left Conisbrough for Nottingham. Miss Hannan was a hairdresser.

The interment took place in Bullwell cemetery last Friday after a service at Cinderhill Church, Nottingham. There were about, a hundred mourners, including Mr. and Mrs. F. Hannan (parents), Mr. and Mrs. J. Hannan, (grandmother and grandfather), Mr. Jack Tyas, Miss J. Haile, Mr. and Mrs. W. Tyas, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hannan. Pugh’s, where Miss Hannan was employed, was closed all day so that members of the staff could, attend the funeral. Sixty wreaths were sent from friends and relations. The inquest has been adjourned until the three occupants of the car are able to give evidence.
