Leaving for Canada

Another familiar figure at Cadeby Colliery was left unable to seek a home in the far west, in the person of Mr Frank Kershaw, who left the village on Tuesday morning en route for America.

Mr Kershaw, who had been put to nearly 20 years at Denaby, as earned the respect and esteem of both officials and workmen, and will carry away with him the best wishes of the community.

Mr and Mrs Kershaw were prominent members of the Salvation Army, where their services will be greatly missed.

The sale of Mr Westoby’s goods on Monday was well attended. Mr Westoby is another of our people who is leaving England take up his abode in Canada, where he hopes to find more scope for his labours. May he succeed in doing so is a wish of all his friends.
