Lighting up Conisborough

Residents of Conanby, on Crookhill-road, and on the Daylands, will be pleased to learn that arrangements for providing street illumination are progressing as fast as material can be delivered.

Five lamps are to be installed in Daylands, and two are going up Crookhill road towards the Isolation Hospital, whilst Conanby’s outskirts are to have attention.

North Cliff Hills are also to be illuminated and poles for the purpose are now in course of delivery. The question of lighting Drake Head Lane, where two cases of assaults on ladies have been reported, was discussed, but the major portion of the lane – the only approach to the small-pox hospital — is  outside the urban area.

The Surveyor has promised to go into the matter with a view to lighting the lane up to the Conisborough boundary.
