Flanagan Announces Himself

Rotherham County Reserve 0 , Denaby United 1

Denaby United were the visitors to Millmoor on Saturday. Both teams made changes. Rotherham were without W Rhodes and Bolton, their places being taken by Barton and Pye. Denaby were without Godfrey, their centre forward. Hamilton was brought to centre forward, and Spencer to the vacant place on the right wing. The Denaby team included a at outside left Flannagan, lately with York City and formerly with Grimsby Town.

There was a fairly strong wind when the teams took the field. Denaby won the toss and opened towards the railway, with the wind at their backs

Rotherham were the first on the offensive. Goacher spoiled a good chance when he put the ball two far ahead for Wilde to reach, Bromage being able to run out and clear. Denaby advanced on the left, and Flannagan shot inches wide

Team: Bromage; Coope and Taylor; Chambers, Illingworth and Rhodes; Spencer, Picknett, Hamilton, Shaw and Flanagan
