Denaby Squandered chances.

Boston United 4 Denaby United 1

Denaby made enough chances for themselves to have saved a point from their Midland game at Boston, or even to have won it – then let them go begging. But compared with the chances Denaby missed, Boston must have thrown away three for every one of the visitors.

A daredevil display by Hough in the Denaby goal kept the persistent Boston forwards disappointed for long periods.

After Boston scored in the 18th minute, Denaby equalised in the 37th minute, Wild, who had earlier hit the bar with a shot that rounded a 60 yard run, met Coleman’s centre to head in.

Boston took the lead again 3 min before half-time and the second half started badly from Denaby when Ainscough had  to clear a shot off the line with the defence at sixes and sevens.

The second half Denaby didn’t look as effective as they had been in the first half and Boston added two more goals.
