The Yorkshire Mine Workers’ Association lost a further 5,500 members last year.

The Conisborough Urban District Council are opposing an application for a new hotel licence at Conisborough.

The Bishop of Leeds is shortly to conduct a Confirmation in the Roman Catholic Church of Low Valley, the first held there for ten years.

As result of criticisms by the new Ratepayers’ Association, the Conisborough Urban Council are to call a public meeting to “give an account of their stewardship.”

Mr. Basil Pickering, who has managed collieries at Wath Main, Manton, Maltby, and Rossington, has been appointed agent of the Denaby and Cadeby Collieries in succession to the late Mr. H. Hulley.

Mr. H. A. Kerry, of Bolton-on-Dearne, has been elected president of the West Yorkshire County Teachers’ Association, whose annual meeting will be held in the Hotel Metropole, Leeds, on Saturday, 20th February. ;

The late Mrs. Warde-Aldam, of Hooton Pagnell Hall, left estate of the gross value of £50,371. She bequeathed a “Lady of the Manor Fund of £1,000 for the fabric and services of Hooton Pagnell Church and the furtherance of our holy faith in the parish of Hooton Pagnell according to the teaching on true Catholic liners of the Holy Catholic Church in England.”
