It is reported that a new picture Hall is to be owned at Wath.

We understand that Mr C. E. Scorah from the staff of the Mexborough branch, will take charge of the new branch of the Sheffield Banking Company at Doncaster which will be open towards the end of February.

The contemplated widening of the Great Central Railway between Mexborough and Conisbrough should bring about long desired improvements to Mexborough station, and a bridge of the railway in place of the present level crossing at Denaby.

Some very interesting musical services are to be held in connection with the Oxford Rd, Church (Mexborough) Choir Festival, on Sunday next. Miss Chilton (Barnsley), contralto, and Mr John E Harper (Mexborough), Bass, are the soloist, and the Oxford Road Male Voice Choir are to make their debut.

A conviction was obtained at Doncaster Court on Saturday by the Denaby and Cadeby Colliery Company against a man who had paid out wages to those working with him on licensed premises. Proper pay sheds are provided for this purpose and the case was brought as a warning to others to stop the practice.
