Motor Car Ablaze
Some excitement was caused on Sunday night about 11.30, when a motor car belonging to Smith and Co. of Doncaster, took fire near Highfield Road.
It appears that the driver was filling his tank with petrol when some splash onto one of the lamps.
The whole car was soon in flames and in a few minutes several hundreds of pounds worth of damage was done.
Buckets of water brought from the neighbouring houses were of no avail the fire was allowed to burn itself out.
The car was taken into a quarry nearby for the night and towed to Doncaster next morning.
