Famous Conisborough Landmark to be Blown Up.

A famous Conisborough landmark is to disappear owing to the exigencies of industry.

“Nancy Crawshaw’s Crag,” a huge rock face of Conisborough Cliff, in a cave under which, legend says, a gipsy of that name had her habitation some years ago—and a cliff known to thousands of visitors to the area— is to blown up by the Conisborough Cliff Company which has the working of the limestone.

During the last few years the demands of the Company on the woodland have been extensive and the whole appearance of the cliffs in the vicinity of Rainbow Bridge has been altered.
