NCB Not Disposed to Pay
Action deprecated by Conisbrough U.D.C.

Mr R.F.Evetts (clerk) reported to meeting of Conisbrough Urban Council Housing Committee’s letter an account had been rendered to the National Coal Board for reimbursement of costs incurred by the Council in purchasing compulsory land required for housing development by the Coal Industry Housing Association at Ellershaw Lane Conisbrough.

He said the Board were not disposed to me that part of the account which related to professional services of the Council staff, the view being taken that it did not come within the reimbursement undertaking previously given.

It was moved by Ald Ben Roberts and seconded by Councillor I.Houghton, that the attitude of the Board in this matter be deprecated, particularly as the Council were under the impression that some recompense will be made for work performed by their staff, and that a request be put forward for further consideration.
