New Managerial Post
At Dinnington for Denaby Man

Mr Edmund Morgan, of 31, Tickhill Square, Denaby, manager of Waleswood coking plant since 1952, has this week been appointed manager of the NCB Dinnington coking plant.

He will act as manager of both plants for the time being.

Mr Morgan began his career as an engineering apprentice at Denaby and Cadeby collieries. In 1934 he joined the staff of the Wath coking plant.

He eventually became Plant Engineer and in 1948 he was appointed assistant manager and remained at Wath until he became manager of the Waleswood plant. He is a member of the Coke Oven Manager’s Association.

A Denaby resident for 40 years, Mr Morgan is son of the late Councillor Thomas Morgan J.P. a member of the Conisbrough Urban Concil.

He is married and has a son aged 10 and twin girls aged 6.

He is a well-known South Yorkshire lawn tennis player and a member of Mexborough LTC.
