Percy Edgar Nicholson

 

The funeral took place on Saturday at the Conisbrough Cemetery, of Percy Edgar Nicholson, who was killed in the recent sad catastrophe at the Cadeby mine. A large number of mourners were present, including :-

Mr. William Nicholson (father), Mrs. Isabella Nicholson (mother), Miss M. Nicholson (sister), Mr. G.W. Nicholson (brother ), Miss Minnie Nicholson (niece), Mr. and Mrs. F. Nicholson of Cadeby (uncle and aunt ), Mr. T. Nicholson (uncle),

Mr. C. Nicholson of Sheffield (uncle), Mr. and Mrs. T. Nicholson of New Cross, Mr. and Mrs. F. Nicholson of Conisbrough ( uncle and aunt ), Mr. and Miss Walton of Sheffield, Messrs. P. and W. Ackroyd, Mr. and Mrs. Murphin, Mr. and Mrs. Monk, and many others.

The floral tributes included :-

A globe from ” The Family,” A large wreath from ” Friends and Neighbours of Beech Hill,” and Flowers from ” Mrs. Ackroyd of Edlington,” and ” Mr. H. Appleyard.”

The deceased, who was in his 19th year, held the greatest esteem of all his fellow workmen and those with whom he came into daily contact. He had only been back at work a little over a fortnight, since recovering from an attack of typhoid, which occasioned a stay of several weeks at the Conisbrough Isolation Hospital.

We extend our most sincere condolences to the friends and relatives of the deceased.
