Private William Platts

Mrs Gedney of 66 Balby Street Denaby main, has been notified that her son, private William Platts (D.L.I.) died on April 10 of wounds received in action, and was buried the following day.

He was 29 years of age, and before enlistment, in January 1917, he was employed at the Yorkshire main colliery Edlington.

His brother private Charles Platts has been wounded, and is in hospital in France.

Private Charles Henry Platts, (picture) son of Mrs Gedney, 66 Balby Street, Denaby main, has been in hospital in France with shrapnel wounds, but is now convalescent.

His brother private W.A.Platts, was recently killed in action in France
