Mr W.H.Trnder, the Rotherham Postmaster, handing a cheque for £15 to Miss Olive West, assistant at the new Conisbrough Post Office.

The presentation was made on Wednesday, Mr Trinder acting on behalf of the Postmaster General, and was to mark Miss West’s action “in satisfactorily resisting an armed and violent intruder intent on stealing Post Office property,” as stated in a letter from the Postmaster General
