Popular Patient.

In our issue of October we published a picture of members of the nursing and domestic staffs at the Fullerton hospital, Denaby Main “Goodbye” to Barbara Deakin, who had been a popular patient at the hospital for over seven years.

Barbara was admitted to the hospital when she was about eight months old and had endeared herself to the staffs, patients and visitors. Everyone seemed to know Barbara, andher afflictions aroused their sympathy.

In October the time came for her to leave all those who had cared for her in such a devoted way, as she was transferred to the Balderton hospital for Spastic Children in the Newark area.

Our Denaby correspondent writes: “I called at the Fullerton hospital on Wednesday and asked after Barbara, discovered that the staff and patients had joined together to send her a parcel of sweets and other gifts for her eighth birthday on October 29.

They now have a reply from a member of the Staff at Balderton thanking them on Barbara’s behalf for the parcel, and stated that she shared her sweets with other patients there.

They reported that Barbara was getting used to new surroundings. Barbarous popularity at the Fullerton hospital, this proved by the fact that over six dozen of our pictures were ordered for distribution among staffs and patients.
