Quarterly Health Report

The latest quarterly report of Dr John MacArthur, Medical Officer of Health for the Urban District shows that during the quarter ended December 31 last, there were 31 births of males at Conisbrough and Denaby, and 27 births of females, equal to a birth rate of 15 per 1000.

There were 25 male deaths and 10 female deaths, equal to a death rate of 9 per 1000. The four deaths of infants under one year produced an infantile mortality rate of 60.9 per 1000.

During the quarter 27 cases of scarlet fever were reported, five each of diphtheria and whooping cough, two of erysipelas and one each of pulmonary tuberculosis and measles.
