A Queer Place for a Snooze.

On Saturday, at Doncaster, Wm. Marshall, labourer. Cadeby, was charged with a breach of the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway by-laws at Conisbro’.

The signalman saw defendant, who was drunk, laying in the road, near the station, about 20 yards from the rails. There was a train on either line, and he had to block both trains.

Defendant walked along the line and fell among the points. Witness led him on to the highway.

Later he heard him in the yard, and saw him fall down the embankment.

Defendant admitted that he was drunk, and did not know where he was until he found himself in Doncaster Road.

He was fined 40s and 19s. costs.
