Climbing over Denaby Crossing Gates

Ernest Taylor, labourer, of Conisborough, was charged with trespassing on the Denaby level crossing on January 1.

Mr Arthur Paul appeared to prosecute.

PC Blenkinsop said that on the day in question, at 4:30 p.m. he was on duty in Doncaster Road, Denaby, in company with Inspector Fairbairn, when he saw the defendant climb over the crossing gate, as the gates were locked. Immediately afterwards a passenger train came by. The signal man warned him not to go over.

The Chairman, in fining defendant 5s.and costs, said he had to be very careful and not let it occur again.
