Refusing to Quit at Denaby Main

James Lang, miner, of Denaby, was summoned for having refused to quit the house of John Slater, Reresby Arms, Denaby on 25 August.

Defendant pleaded guilty.

Mr Slater said that on 25 August defendant on in his house was disorderly. He commenced to use bad language. When asked to leave he refused, but on a policeman been sent for he quitted the premises.

Defendant: I was drunk.

Major Hammond, superintendent of police, said the defendant had four previous convictions recorded against him.

The magistrates imposed a fine of 5s. and costs.
