Rifle Club – Very Good Shooting

After a rest our rifle club were again in harness on Saturday, when they journeyed to Wombwell. The report will be found in another column.

During the last month some very good shooting has taken place at the range on the North Cliff, despite the bad weather which has prevailed.

The final “shoot” for the presidents prize resulted in a tie between Mr Mark Halse, of Mexborough, and Mr L. Wright; and a final “shoot” will have to take place to decide who shall be the winner. The winner of Capt Pope’s cup this month (June) has again been won by a new member.

The June handicaps have been won by the following members:

first class F. W. Rudd (silver spoon), 63 point; second class A. Pateman (silver spoon), 59; third class F. Baines (silver spoon), 54. The silver medal for the highest score of members joining during the month has been won by Oxley with 52 points.
