For Conisbrough and Denaby Men

“You are not merely being given an award; you are being admitted into a very ancient order of Christian chivalry,” said Lord Wakehurst (Lord Prior of the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem) to ambulance men and women from Northumberland, Cumberland,  Derbyshire and Yorkshire, who assembled at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday for an investiture of the Order.

Invested an Honorary Serving Brothers were Staff-Sergt. W. A. Akester and Secretary-Sergt. E. Dale (Conisbrough Division), respectively with 44 and 30 years’ service, Divisional Supt. R. Ross (Denaby Division), with 46 years’ service, and Cad. J. G. Hinton (Cadeby Division), with 33 years’ service.
