Senior Appointment for Dr McArthur

Denaby and Conisborough people will be pleased to learn of the success of Dr John M McArthur, second son of Dr and Mrs J McArthur, of the Red House, Denaby Main.

Dr J.M. McArthur has been appointed senior resident medical officer of Nuffield house, the new wing at Guy’s Hospital London.

He was appointed to the medical staff at Guy’s in 1934. Nuffield house (the new wing) was opened last December by the Prince of Wales.

It derives its name from Lord Nuffield, who subscribed £73,000 towards its erection and equipment.

We congratulate Dr John MacArthur upon his appointment as its senior medical officer.

Both he and his brother Dr James McArthur, done well in their studies and examinations in the medical profession.
