Sentimental Conisbro Man
Walter Keane, miner, new Conisbrough was drunk and disorderly on Saturday week.
PC Grimshaw cautioned him, and told him to go home. “I’d go home happy,” retorted Keane, “if I could have a fight with someone.” He rushed across the road to an acquaintance, who he asked to go two rounds with just for old time’s sake.”
When PC Grimshaw set something about the lock-up, Keane staggered towards his home in silence.
Fined 5/- and costs.
