Worksop Town 3 Denaby United 2

Played at Worksop before a very fair attendance. The opening exchanges were slightly in favour of the home team, but their efforts lacked finish in front of goal, and no advantage was gained.

After 25 min play Kelk was called upon, and saved smartly, but a moment later he was beaten with a low grounder, and thus the visitors scored the first goal.

Even exchanges followed, but at length Worksop assume the upper hand, Ainsworth, eventually making the score equal. Nothing further occurred before half-time when the game stored: Worksop 1 Denaby1.

On resuming, Worksop were the first to get really dangerous, Wharton missing a very easy opportunity. After this, Denaby from a foul gained a second goal.

Worksop, however, were not long before they again got on level terms, Wharton scoring a very pretty gold.

Near the close Copestake added another, and despite several strong rushes from the visitors. The home team managed to maintain the advantage.
