Died on Last Day of War

The funeral took place at Conisbrough on Saturday of private Thomas Sewell, aged 27, late of the second/fifth Yorks and Lancs Regiment, Ouse Terrace, Conisbrough.

Death took place at Malley hospital, from influenza on November 11, the last day of the war.

He was well known and respected in the district, and worked at Denaby colliery,previous to enlistment six months ago.

At the funeral there were soldier bearers and a firing party from Pontefract. The Rev. J.N.Willis officiated
