Storm Damage
House Struck At Conisborough

Despite the wildness of the weather over the weekend, and particularly on Monday and Tuesday, when there was the usual phenomenon (considering the high wind and low temperature) of thunder and lightning, comparatively little storm damage is reported in the district.

At Conanby on Tuesday a house in Pope Avenue was struck by lightning, light fuses were blown out, and extensive damage done to the roof, while the overmantel in the living room was not onto the heart and struck a visitor, Mr P Donlon, fortunately without hindering him.

Lights of other houses on the same side of the road were also fused.

Mr and Mrs A Whalley are the occupants of the house.
