Strafforth Sands.”

Historic landmarks are fast disappearing in the parish of Conisborough.

Mr F. Ogley of Hill Top House. is the fortunate owner of that piece of land which formed the track or pass at the Conisborough side of the river which is now soon to be built upon, as it is rumoured that Mr. Ogley is getting plans prepared for covering this field with cottages.

The situation is the next field to where the Denaby Boat Staithe is and runs from the river to the side of the railway. When these alterations are made the ancient pass is gone and though the Wapentake may still hold its name the place will be lost.

Is it not worth something putting upon it to point to future inhabitants the place from where the Wapentake derives its name?
