Sunday at “Wicked” Denaby.

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Monday 19 May 1930

Sunday at “Wicked” Denaby.

An observer in Denaby yesterday would not have found much encouragement to believe that “wicked Denaby” was a correct description.

In the morning the Church Lads’ Brigade paraded with their band to attend the service at the Parish Church.

The Salvation Army band was heard in the street, and the St. John Ambulance Brigade hand also played to large muster of members at a parade.

In the afternoon 3,000 persons watched the Roman Catholic procession and attended the crowning of the May Queen (Miss Agnes Quinn) on the Denaby United football ground.
