Superintendent Honoured

Mr. Cyril Rich, of The Poplars, Church Street, Denaby, superintendent of the Urban Council’s parks at Conisbrough and Denaby, has this week received a certificate of commendation from the Minister of Agriculture in recognition of his work as a member of the Districts 21, 22, 23, 33 and 34 Horticultural Sub-Committee of the West Riding War Agricultural Executive Committee in helping to organise food production campaigns through allotments and gardens in the area.

Mr. Rich has been a member of the sub-committee, which is still operation, since 1942. He became Parks Superintendent in 1941 after service on the Park staff which began 14 years ago.

Previously he was on the staff at Crookhill Hall Receiving Home Conisbrough.
