“The Time Has Come” – at Conisbrough.

The Conisbrough Urban Council agreed at their meeting last night to serve notices to quit on tenants of 14 council houses in Conisbrough because of the arrears.

Coun David Sheldon, chairman of the finance committee, said it was a drastic step, but the time had come for drastic steps.

“There are no old age pensioners among the list,” he said, “and all the people concerned are working. But some of them seem to work when they want to. We have to deal with the matter of arrears very seriously.”
