Their Final Tribute.

Denaby St Alban’s Roman Catholic Church was packed on Monday, and again on Tuesday, for the requiem mass and the funeral of 13 years old Conisbrough schoolgirl and Guide, Theresa Gregory, who died in a road accident on the main Doncaster to Sheffield Road at Conisbrough last Thursday.

Also present were children from Pope Pious X school, Wath, Sisters of Mercy and children from St Alban’s school, Denaby; representatives of the Union of Catholic Mothers, the Sisters of Mercy, the staff of Conisbrough Hospital and Western Hospital Balby, and representatives of the Scout and Guide movement.

The inquest, which was opened and adjourned on Saturday, will be resumed in Doncaster today (Friday)

Guides, Scouts, Cubs and Brownies from all of the district line the roadside as the coffin was borne to church on Monday evening.

The bearers were senior boys from Theresa’s school, St Bernard’s Roman Catholic School, Rotherham. They were aided by the St Alban’s church bearers, together with district Guiders and Scouters. The eight boys again acted as bearers to the graveside on Tuesday morning.
